Have you ever thought, “I am too good for this job”?
“Who are THEY to reject ME?!”
“I was TOP PRODUCER FOR X YEARS IN XYZ COMPANY”
Self esteem can be a tricky thing.
Too much and you’re a conceited _________.
Too little and people walk all over you.
The tricky thing about self esteem and sales – sales is full of rejection.
Every single day.
Rejection.
Sometimes, I’ve even thought to myself, “why did I choose a profession where I get rejected every single day of my life”
What’s actually wrong with me?
I mean, I chose it.
I created the situation,
I could have been a plumber.
Or a beer truck driver or maybe a psychologist.
But here’s the thing.
What is rejection?
It’s a word.
It means: the dismissing or refusing of a proposal, idea, etc.
As a sales person, we feel rejected much of the time.
But what IF we reframed it.
What if every time we seemingly got rejected yet moved forward with a positive winning attitude we received a $100 bill.
The truth is, the great salespeople who do this, end up earning a hell of a lot more than $100 per “rejection”
What can you do to reframe some of the negative states you encounter in sales ?
